What is the Adult Summer Reading Program?

An opportunity for adults to read books and win prizes this summer.

Who can participate?

Adult Clackamas County library card holders. If you don’t have a library card, just ask at the Circulation Desk and we will help you get one.

What can I read?

Anything you want! The Bingo Cards have certain categories (genre, format, etc.). Reading Logs have no limits; read books, magazines, newspapers, blog posts - whatever you like to read.

How do I sign-up?

There is no sign-up.

So what do I do?

Read! Choose how you want to play: Bingo Card or Reading Logs or Science Logs, or all of them!

Pick up a Bingo Card and read books in the different genres and do the activities to make 5 squares in a row. When you have a Bingo, turn in the Bingo Card at the Library. Each Bingo Card you turn in will give you another entry in the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Bingo Cards is Thursday, August 31.

Want more of a challenge? Complete a Bingo Card Blackout. Do the activities for every square on the Bingo Card and turn the completed card in for 5 entries into the Grand Prize Drawing AND 1 entry into a special drawing.

Want more freedom in what you read? Then read 20 minutes a day for 20 days and complete a Reading Log! Each Reading Log you turn in (limit of 4) will give you another entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Reading Logs is Thursday, August 31.

How about some science? Do 10 science "explorations" and complete a Science Log! Turn in a completed Science Log and receive a small prize AND an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Last day to turn in Science Logs is Thursday, August 31.

When is the Grand Prize Drawing?

The Grand Prize Drawing will be held Tuesday, September 5.

What are the prizes?

Prizes include gift certificates to local businesses.

It all starts Thursday, June 1!
