April 11, 2023 – The Wilsonville Public Library has been awarded a $5,000 grant by the State Library of Oregon to fund the hiring of a teenager to serve as the Library’s summer intern.
The internship has been posted on the City of Wilsonville’s Job Opportunities page; interested candidates may apply online until April 24. The Wilsonville Library seeks to fill the position by June, with the internship continuing through the end of August.
April 4, 2023 — At the April 3, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council welcomed the Wilsonville High School boys’ varsity basketball team in celebration of its third consecutive OSAA Class 5A State Championship. Mayor Julie Fitzgerald read a proclamation declaring April 3-7 “Wilsonville Wildcats Week,” which detailed many of the team and individual achievements earned by the Wildcats en route to their sixth State title.

March 21, 2023 — At the March 20, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council approved an intergovernmental agreement and memorandum of understanding with Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet). These agreements would remove unserved City of Wilsonville properties from TriMet’s boundaries and explain the process for petitioning TriMet to withdraw areas within the Wilsonville urban growth boundary in 2026, the next available petition cycle.
March 22, 2023— The City of Wilsonville is recruiting applicants interested in serving on the City boards and commissions that provide guidance and oversight of City programs.
New terms begin in July 2023 for 10 open seats on five City boards. Members typically attend evening meetings (no more than once a month) and assist in making policy recommendations to the City Council.
March 13, 2023 — The City and Republic Services are hosting the first of two 2023 Bulky Waste Day events on Saturday, May 6, 9 am-1 pm, at Republic Services (10295 SW Ridder Rd.) in Wilsonville.
Bulky Waste Day provides an opportunity for Wilsonville residents to dispose of large or unusual items that cannot be picked up curbside. Proof of Wilsonville residence is required.
There is no charge to dispose of waste. In lieu of charging a fee, the City is asking participants to donate new or unused gift cards from local merchants in small denominations ($5-20) to help Wilsonville Community Sharing provide critical assistance to local families in need.
March 9, 2023 — City of Wilsonville Mayor Julie Fitzgerald is scheduled to present the 2023 “State of the City” address at the April 17 meeting of the Wilsonville City Council. The meeting takes place at 7 pm, at Wilsonville City Hall, 29799 SW Town Center Loop East.
Delivered virtually last year because of COVID-19, the annual State of the City address provides an opportunity for Mayor Fitzgerald to summarize the City’s recent achievements and to preview the City Council’s goals, initiatives, opportunities and challenges.
March 7, 2023 — At the March 6, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council granted annual property-tax exemptions to five multi-family facilities — Autumn Park Apartments, Charleston Apartments, Creekside Woods LP, Rain Garden LP and Wiedemann Park — that provide 365 residential units of affordable housing. These annual exemptions allow the facilities to provide lower-cost rent to families, seniors and individuals meeting income qualifications.
The Council directed the Parks and Recreation Department to pursue a grant from the Oregon State Parks Local Government Grant Program (LGGP) to fund a project to replace the 35-year-old restroom at Boones Ferry Park. The new restroom, which would include two single, non-gender specific restrooms, better serves the community and reduces maintenance costs.

February 24, 2023 — At the February 23, 2023, online virtual meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council authorized the purchase of approximately a half-acre from five separate properties as part of the construction of the Boeckman Road Corridor Improvement Project. The property acquisitions are for road right-of-way and easements for access, public utilities and temporary construction use.

February 7, 2023 — At the February 6, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, the Council approved a $200,000 agreement with Century West Engineering to provide engineering consulting services to advance the 2023 Street Maintenance Project. This annual program to fund street resurfacing keeps the City’s road infrastructure safe and reliable. This year, road improvements are slated on portions of Wilsonville Rd., Boeckman Rd. and Parkway Ave.
The Council approved a $1.47 million agreement with Consor North America, Inc. to provide engineering consulting on an upcoming capital project to add 3 million gallons (3MG) of storage capacity to Wilsonville’s water system.

Capture and celebrate the joy and beauty of our community by submitting images that share your unique perspective on life in Wilsonville. All original photographs are eligible for prizes, including a $100 gift card (to the Wilsonville retailer of your choice) for the photo judged Best Overall. Ten “Best in Category” prizes are also to be awarded.

January 30, 2023 — To educate the community by shedding light on the history and/or the lived experiences of people in historically-marginalized segments of our population, the City of Wilsonville’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee has scheduled a free five-event lecture series to be held at locations throughout Wilsonville.
The series begins on Thursday, Mar. 2, at 6:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn. (30800 SW Parkway Ave.) with “Displacing Black Portland: A History of Housing Discrimination,” presented by Zachary Stocks of Oregon Black Pioneers. Stocks’ program explains how generations of housing discrimination continues to shape Portland’s demographics, and Black Portlanders’ opportunities within a rapidly gentrifying city.

January 20, 2023 — At the January 19, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, on second reading, the Council adopted two ordinances that annex and rezone 9.2 acres within the Coffee Creek Industrial Area. These actions enable development of a warehouse/manufacturing building and associated site improvements that are consistent with the Coffee Creek Master Plan

January 9, 2023 — To begin the January 5, 2023, meeting of the Wilsonville City Council, incoming councilors Caroline Berry and Katie Dunwell were sworn in by Municipal Court Judge Fred Weinhouse. All five Wilsonville City Council seats are now occupied by women for the first time in the City’s history.
To ensure that Wilsonville recognizes a wider variety of cultural holidays and events that may hold meaning to community members of historically-marginalized groups, the City Council adopted a Cultural Calendar developed by the City’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
January 5, 2023 — In order to share design concepts and illustrate how the community’s feedback is being incorporated into the Boeckman Road Corridor Improvement Project, the City of Wilsonville is hosting an open house on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Meridian Creek Middle School (6300 SW Hazel St.).
When complete, the Boeckman Road Corridor Improvement Project upgrades Boeckman Rd. to urban standards and provides safer passage for all modes of transportation along the corridor.
