Celebrate the year of the horse!

The City of Wilsonville's Diverstiy, Equity and Inclusion Committee invites the community to attend the City's second annual Lunar New Year Celebration, which will feature cultural performances, music, refreshments, and family friendly crafts.

Widely celebrated  in China and other East Asian countries, Lunar New Year celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar. Traditional customs  include spring cleaning, decorating with red and gold, exchanging red envelopes, enjoying festive meals, and participating in dragon and lion dances.

What to expect:

The event will take place entirely indoors. The performances will take place in the community multipurpose room which has high ceilings and LED lighting. Sound can be loud and echo in the room. There will be amplified sound for microphone use and music. (Ear plugs will be available upon request.) Seating will be available to enjoy the performances.

There will be kid friendly crafts and light refreshments available for attendees (in limited quantities).
