About the Committee

The Tourism Promotion Committee has three primary areas of responsibility:

  1. The Committee oversees implementation of the “Visit Wilsonville” Tourism Development Strategy and is charged specifically to develop a larger Five-Year Action Plan and annual One-Year Implementation Plans for fulfilling the Tourism Development Strategy, to be presented and recommended to City Council for approval.

  2. The Committee makes recommendations to the City Council for tourism- and visitor-related marketing, promotions, expenditures and related programs and services that will result in increased tourism activity, as measured by overnight room stays at local lodging properties. The tourism promotion program is funded by the transient lodging tax (TLT) revenues.

Due to the unique multi-disciplinary, inter-department nature of the Committee’s program of action, the Committee is a board of the Administration Department / Office of the City Manager with participation from the City Parks and Recreation Department.

Tourism Development Strategy Update

The city’s Explore Wilsonville tourism program is undertaking a new project aimed at enhancing our visitor economy. And we need your help!

We're asking people from all over — whether you live here, have visited before, or work in our businesses that benefit from visitors — to share what you think about Wilsonville in a community-wide survey. We want to know:

  • Your views on Wilsonville’s tourism assets and their potential.
  • Your perspective on regional tourism and its impact on our community.
  • Opportunities you see for improving visitor experiences in Wilsonville.
  • Your hopes for the future of our visitor economy.

The survey is designed to ask different questions depending on who you are. If you work in tourism, we'll ask about how you think we can attract more visitors. If you live here, we want to know how tourism affects your life. And if you've visited us, tell us what you thought!

Please take a moment to help us shape the future of Wilsonville’s visitor economy by participating in the survey. Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EWTDS to make your voice heard. The survey is open until May 17, 2024.
