Street Maintenance Program FY 2025-2028
The Wilsonville Annual Street Maintenance Program funds the planning, design, and construction of street surface rehabilitation projects necessary to maintain a safe and reliable street network. This project represents the next three years of planned street maintenance across Wilsonville.
Current Construction
Currently, the City is working on performing Crack Sealing in the Villebois, Park at Merryfield, and other nearby neighborhoods bounded by the following roads: North of Wilsonville Road, South of Boeckman, West of Kinsman, and East of Grahams Ferry Road.
Crack sealing is a maintenance technique used to extend the life of roads. Crack sealing is like putting a waterproof bandage on a road. Over time, roads develop small cracks because of weather, traffic, or just age. If these cracks are left open, water can get in. That water can freeze and expand in cold weather, or wash away the soil underneath the road, which causes even more damage—like potholes. To stop that from happening, workers clean out the cracks and fill them with a rubbery material that stays flexible over time. This "seal" keeps out water and debris and helps prevent the cracks from getting bigger. Crack sealing is a way to fix small problems in the road before they become big ones. It's quick and effective, drying in about 30 minutes and is much cheaper than repaving the whole road.
In addition to crack sealing, construction crews will also be performing small, localized pavement spot repairs, which consists of construction crews removing and replacing small sections of damaged asphalt. These repairs focus only on the areas that are cracked, crumbling, or uneven. During a spot repair, construction crews will dig up the damaged asphalt in a specific area and then fill the area with new asphalt and smooth it out. It’s like cutting out a worn patch of carpet and replacing it with a new piece—it keeps the surface safe and extends the life of the entire street. Spot repairs are quicker and more cost-effective than repaving the whole road.
Traffic Control
We understand that construction activity can be disruptive, and we want to reassure you that you will still be able to access your home and your neighborhood throughout the entire process.
Here’s what to expect:
In the pavement spot repair areas, indicated by the bold black lines on the map, No Parking signs will be put up 36 to 72 hours before work starts. Vehicles that parked in the these designated no parking zones will have to be towed to allow the work to proceed.
In the crack sealing areas, residents are asked to avoid street parking on the days crack sealing is planned in each work zone, allowing construction crews to fully access and seal the pavement cracks. However, parking restrictions will not be in place or enforced during the crack sealing work.
- During periods of active construction, there may be brief traffic delays. However, these will be limited to localized flagging — meaning traffic will be guided safely through the work area. There will be no full road closures.
- When work is taking place directly in front of your house or alley driveway, access may be interrupted for up to 30 minutes to allow the crack sealing work to be completed. After that short period, normal access will be restored.
If you have any specific concerns or needs, feel free to reach out — we're here to help make this process as smooth as possible.
