Introduction to Publication Writing

Fun, interactive workshops for teens and adults in any stage of their writing journey. Learn about the publishing industry, the endless opportunities to write professionally, the writing craft skills required for publication. With these tools, step-out with success and get noticed by editors and agents.

Session 1: "Get Published - Where to Begin"
Monday, April 22, 6:00-7:30 pm
Learn about the publishing world, including industry terminology, writers' markets, the pros/cons of self, subsidy, vanity, and traditional publishing, and more.

Session 2: "Hone Your Craft Part One" 
Monday, April 29, 6:00-7:30 pm
Improve your writing with techniques to tighten your prose and engage readers.

Session 3: "Hone Your Craft Part Two"
Monday, May 6, 6:00-7:30 pm
Build stronger storytelling skills with character development and dialogue.

Session 4: "Story Arc and Point of View"
Monday, May 13, 6:00-7:30 pm
Master Point of View, learn the elements of a great story and the techniques to great beginnings and endings.
